Impact of the Project»
SEAROC’s Impact:
	•	Caused awareness about cancer, its causes, symptoms, treatment options among common people even those from rural background who cannot get proper medical services.
	•	SEAROC’s camp also helped people in early detection of cancer and its treatment.
	•	Guided general practitioners & health professionals in early detection of cancer.
	•	Prevented some type of cancers by educating people about lifestyle, diet, hygiene, harmful effects of tobacco and smoking.
	•	Shared knowledge to promote scientific exchange by organizing conferences, seminars, workshops etc.
	•	Updated the medical fraternity by providing them the latest & the most comprehensive treatment guidelines.
	•	Made the tough path of life smooth by providing the patients the much needed social. Psychological, physical and vocational rehabilitation.
	•	Sponsored individuals for fellowships to renowned institutes in India & abroad.
	•	Encouraged cancer research & education.
	•	Conducts various clinical trials which provide an opportunity for latest treatment options to patients, in addition they also offers the advantage that patients enrolled on clinical trials are provided free investigations, medicines, treatment which is a boon for the poor patients.

Cancer is a disease which is increasing day by day and so are the challenges to its treatment. Cancer which was synonymous with death a few years ago is not so deadly now with better understanding of cancer biology and availability of better technology for treatment of cancer patients. With the use of multi-modality treatment the results have started improving.

Conclusion
	•	Cancer can be detected and prevented early by screening different organs like oral cavity, cancer cervix, breast, prostate etc.
	•	In India most of the cases of cancer are of oral cavity due to tobacco consumption. So education programme, psychological support, deaddiction services are provided.
	•	Screening services for detection of cervical cancer, oral cancers, prostate cancer and breast cancer are provided to common people.
	•	A mobile detection unit equipped with laboratory, X-ray, USG, which I used for conducting camps at remote rural areas where people do not have access to these diagnostic facilities.
	•	Cancer screening programme & camps are conducted by SEAROC and the camp coordinator is Dr. Prakash Golecha, who has the world record of conducting maximum individual camps.
	•	Pain is severe in advanced stages of cancer. A dedicated team of specialists for pain management is also serving the cancer patients for pain relief and better quality of life.
	•	In such a manner SEAROC has gained its aim as a non-profit organization dedicated to those who are not able to afford treatment , those who have not heard cancer. SEAROC also helps in the treatment of those inflicted by cancer by providing them financial support and ensuring their rehabilitation. SEAROC has great zeal to help the society to fight against the cancer and to minimize the suffering by this dreaded diseases.
