Main activities of SEAROC are to create awareness among common man about cancer so that cancer patients can be treated at early stage of cancer and cancer can be cured; to conduct cancer treatment camps for poor patients at minimum cost or free of cost; and to conduct many inter-province, inter-state and national workshops so that cancer can be treated and cured at an early stage of disease. SEAROC generally conducts camp on Saturdays and Sundays every week for the service of mankind occasionally during the week days also in the service for mankind. Most of these camps are conducted on weekends so that more and more crowd can be covered owing to holiday on weekends. SEAROC has been conducting cancer detection, cancer treatment and cancer awareness camps in Rajasthan and in nearby states for last six years. Most of the camps are conducted in the rural area where the people even not know what cancer is, how it can be treated and how their lifetime can be enhanced & improved by proper treatment. |
| Intra-State-Camps and Workshops: |
SEAROC has conducted more than 100 cancer detection and awareness camps in Jaipur and other districts of Rajasthan for the early detection and treatment of cancer in near by provinces. SEAROC conducts many awareness camps about cancer in which cancer awareness material is distributed free of cost among public. The major areas where SEAROC has conducted camps in last few quarters are Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Chimanpura, Churu, Gangapur City, Hindaun, Kishangarh, Kota, Mahendragarh, Malpura, Saipura, Sikar, Sujangarh and Vijay Nagar etc. All these camps are conducted by well qualified doctors mainly oncologists. In these camps SEAROC also make people aware of the harmful effects of causal agents like tobacco and its products |
| Inter-State Camps and Workshop: |
SEAROC has conducted more than 20 cancer detection and awareness camps in nearby states for early detection and treatment of cancer. Qualified team of doctors specially oncologists conduct camps and see the patients coming to the camps. The major states where SEAROC conducts camps are Haryana, Madhya Pradesh etc. SEAROC conducts camp at Hissar on firstt Sunday of every month and occasionally at Indore. |
Working Group Meeting: |
SEAROC conducts fortnightly work group meeting for regular updates about cancer, cancer camps, cancer treatment and upcoming trends in oncology. Work group of SEAROC is composed qualified oncologists , oncology nurses and other professionals. SEAROC’s workgroup is headed by Dr. Anish Maru (President), Dr. Dinesh Mangal (Secretary), Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta (Vice President) and many other prominent oncologists & radiologists are part of it. Here the work group also discuss the planning and execution of awareness programme and camps so also the stress is given on cancers which can be prevented by making the general people aware of the casual agents of these cancers like smoking etc. In every work group meeting future camps are decided; the disputed cases are discussed that what medication is to be given to that particular case and the team is selected for the camps to be held within two weeks keeping in consideration the area to be covered in upcoming camps. The difficulties faced in last camps are discussed so that they can be taken care of in next camps whether it is cancer detection camp or awareness camp. A treatment planning approach in which a number of doctors who are experts in different specialties (disciplines) review and discuss the medical condition and treatment options of the patients. In such a manner SEAROC progresses ahead by resolving previous shortcomings and updating and upgrading their skills and getting prepared for future every fortnightly in work group meeting. |
International Workshop: |
SEAROC conducted an International workshop on cancer- “ONCON 2009” on 24-25 January 2009 at SMS Convention Centre, Rambagh Palace, Jaipur with the theme “Transforming Cancer Management”. This workshop was conducted with the objective of improving the knowledge and management of cancer patients, thereby improving the quality and quantity of there life. Many eminent international and national specialists in the filed of cancer biology, genetic oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and clinical research participated and shared their view on the topics. In this workshop the patient and general public asked their questions about cancer and the doctors resolved the queries. |
